The Home Affairs Department (HAD) has launched a new dedicated website on social enterprises (SEs) today (June 23) to enhance public awareness and understanding of SEs.
The website provides a repository of SE-related information and materials, such as a directory listing out information on various products and services provided by SEs and their contact details, support services available to SEs, and a record of past events and activities.
An HAD spokesman said that providing access to such information could help promote the setting up and development of SEs, strengthen peopleˇ¦s understanding of the subject, and create a conducive market environment to enable SEs to flourish.
"We hope in future there would be more SE projects with the participation of the business sector to enhance social cohesion and foster a new caring culture," the spokesman said. He added that the Government would continue to liaise with various sectors to jointly promote the development of SEs.
