Home Affairs Department's arrangement on hot weather
****************************************************

As the Very Hot Weather Warning (VHWW) is now in force, people in need may take refuge from the heat during the day time in the common areas in any of the Home Affairs Department's community centres that are generally open from 9am to 10pm.

Drinking water and cups are provided in the venues. For addresses of the community centres, please browse the department's webpage: http://www.had.gov.hk/en/public_services/community_halls_centres/.

District Officers have requested the respective District Social Welfare Officers to keep a close eye on the elderly in particular the singleton elderly in the district and to provide assistance to them if necessary.

The Home Affairs Department will open temporary night heat shelters for people in need of refuge from the heat tonight if the Very Hot Weather Warning is still in force at 4.30 pm.
