The Government today (June 20) announced that the Chief Executive has made the following appointments and re-appointments to the Board of the Ocean Park Corporation:
(a) Appointments
Mr Lau Ming-wai
(for a period of two years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2010);
Mr Andrew Leung Chi-kwan
(for a period of two years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2010); and
Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Treasury) (or representative)
(for a period of three years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2011).
(b) Re-appointments
Mr Leo Kung Lin-cheng
(for a period of one year from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009);
Mr Adrian Li Man-kiu
(for a period of one year from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009);
Prof. Nora Tam Fung-yee
(for a period of one year from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009);
Ms Judy Chen Qing
(for a period of two years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2010);
Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs (or representative)
(for a period of three years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2011);
Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) (or representative)
(for a period of three years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2011); and
Commissioner for Tourism (or representative)
(for a period of three years from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2011).
"We are grateful to members of the board for their continued support, and are confident that the new members will contribute to the development of Ocean Park," a Government spokesman said.
"The expertise and experience of the board members in various professional areas will help Ocean Park in formulating strategies to sustain and enhance its position as a popular marine-themed attraction among our visitors," he added.
The Ocean Park Corporation is a statutory body established under the Ocean Park Corporation Ordinance (Chapter 388) to manage Ocean Park as a public recreational and educational park. The composition of the board as at July 1, 2008, is at Annex.
