Members of the public are advised that traffic on Hong Kong Island, especially in Central, Tseung Kwan O and Kwai Chung are expected to be busy and congested due to public activities to be held tomorrow (June 10).
To help ease the traffic, motorists are advised to avoid travelling to the congested area unless it is absolutely necessary and to make use of non-road based public transport services as far as possible. They are also advised to exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion and to follow instructions of the Police.
Members of the public are advised to plan their routes early, use alternative routes, allow more travelling time to cater for unexpected delay and watch out for the latest traffic news through the media.
For those parties who take part in the activities are advised to express their views in a calm and rational manner, and refrain from taking drastic actions that will cause inconvenience to the public and affect the traffic condition.
The Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre of the Transport Department will operate on Joint Steering Mode tomorrow to closely monitor the traffic situation together with the Police.
