*********************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 7) that the shark flags at 10 gazetted beaches and two water sports centres in Southern District have been lowered because no more shark sighting is reported in the vicinity. Services provided at the centres have been resumed.

These beaches are Shek O Beach, Deep Water Bay Beach, Repulse Bay Beach, Middle Bay Beach, South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St. Stephen's Beach, Big Wave Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach and Turtle Cove Beach, and the water sports centres are Stanley Main Beach Water Sports Centre and St. Stephen's Beach Water Sports Centre.

For safety sake, swimmers are advised to swim in zones enclosed by shark prevention nets. People engaging in water sports should also be extra cautious.
