Theatre du Pif to present "Hanako's Pillow"
*******************************************

Inspired by ancient Japanese ghost stories and David Henry Hwang's stage play "The Sound of a Voice", Theatre du Pif will present its latest production "Hanako's Pillow" in July.

The story is about an ageing warrior who arrives at the home of a mysterious woman living like a hermit deep in the woods. Is she the infamous witch who is a source of fascination and resentment of the village? Is he an assassin sent to kill her or a tired man seeking healing and love?

Directed by Robert Draffin from Australia, with stage design by renowned Korean visual designer Lee Yun Soo and live cello accompaniment by local musician Letty Poon, Theatre du Pif's gripping new production fuses theatre, song and live music to explore the dream of the warrior, who is in an intense duel of love and mortality, which brings a vision of intimacy, loneliness, sensuality and sacrifice.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), "Hanako's Pillow" by Theatre du Pif (performed in English with Chinese subtitles) will be staged at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Details of the performances are as follows:
