Sha Tin restaurant ordered to suspend business
**********************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Sha Tin to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at Shop F, ground floor, Greenfield Court, 9-11 Sha Tin Wai Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (June 2) to June 15, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In October last year and March this year, there were two convictions for failing to cover food properly at the food premises.

"A total fine of $2,000 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He said the restaurant also had convictions for unauthorised extension of food business in April and October last year.

"A total fine of $670 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from February 14 to 20 this year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
