Temporary closure of Tung Chung Battery

The Tung Chung Battery would be temporarily closed from June 2 to July 5 for maintenance, the Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) announced today (May 30). The AMO apologised for any inconvenience.
Located near the pier on Tung Chung Road in Tung Chung, Lantau Island, the battery was built in 1817. An L-shaped wall with a platform at the corner, probably used for gun emplacements, was preserved in situ.
