Six more members of the medical team deployed by the Hospital Authority (HA) to Chengdu in Sichuan departed this morning (May 21) to help in the treatment of injuries sustained in the earthquake. The six-member team, including a child psychiatrist, clinical psychologists and a patient food safety and dietetic expert, will join the medical team, led by the Chief of Service (Accident & Emergency) of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, Dr Lau Chor-chiu, to help in the rehabilitation and recovery of injured patients. This brings to 25 the number of healthcare professionals in the HA medical team supporting the medical rescue operation in Chengdu.
