Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, at a media session on Sichuan earthquake at the Central Government Offices, West Wing, today (May 13):
Reporter: How many people will be sent to China? Will they be enough for ...?
Secretary for Security: We have formed a core group of about 20 staff, consisting of 15 firemen, three ambulancemen, one medical doctor and one nurse. Depending on the situation, I think this core team, apart from helping with the rescue work, would assess the local situation. If there are needs for further reinforcement, we will mobilise other volunteers to help.
