Secretary for the Environment visits Beijing

    The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, leaves Hong Kong today (April 9) for a duty visit to Beijing.

    During his visit, Mr Yau will meet the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Mr Li Ganjie; the Vice Administrator of the State Oceanic Administration, Mr Wang Fei; and the Director-General, Office of the National Leading Group on Climate Change of the National Development and Reform Commission, Mr Su Wei, to exchange views on environmental protection and climate change.

    Mr Yau will also join the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, to meet officials of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the National Development and Reform Commission.

    Mr Yau will return to Hong Kong on the evening of April 11.
