Members of the Transport Advisory Committee (TAC) were updated at a meeting today (March 20), on the major railway and highway projects outlined in the 2007 Policy Address.
"Members learned of the good progress made in the planning of these projects and their implementation timetables. We noted the substantial transport and economic benefits these projects would generate and expressed strong support for them", TAC chairman Ms Teresa Cheng Yuek-wah said.
The relevant major railway and highway projects are :
(i) South Island Line (East);
(ii) Sha Tin to Central Link;
(iii) Tuen Mun Western Bypass and Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link;
(iv) Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link;
(v) Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge; and
(vi) Proposed airport rail link between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
