¡§A Profile of Older Persons, 2006¡¨
The 2006 Population By-census (06BC) was conducted by C&SD during the 18-day period from 15 July to 1 August 2006. Results from the 06BC have been made available in a series of publications from February 2007 to February 2008. The 06BC provides a wealth of data on the socio-economic characteristics of the population in Hong Kong, thus allowing studies to be undertaken on various facets of the community and also on specific sub-groups of the population. This feature article utilises the results of the 06BC to give an overview of older persons (persons aged 65 and over) in Hong Kong.
