The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (March 19) published the March 2008 issue of its Quarterly Bulletin.
This Quarterly Bulletin contains three feature articles:
* Hong Kong-dollar debt market development in 2007 - reviewing the Hong Kong-dollar debt market.
* Liquidity and risk management in the RTGS system - the Hong Kong experience - studying issues related to intraday liquidity using the Hong Kong experience with special reference to the huge increase in Hong Kong-dollar RTGS system turnover in 2007.
* The influence of US and Mainland shocks on Hong Kong's short-term interest rates - analysing the significance of unexpected macroeconomic developments on the Mainland in determining Hong Kong money market interest rates after controlling for the influences of US variables
In a move to streamline production and reduce paper consumption, starting in 2008, the Quarterly Bulletin will be available only on the HKMA website at http://www.info.gov.hk/hkma/eng/public/qb_index.htm. However, printed versions (English only) of the Half-Yearly Monetary and Financial Stability Report will still be available and published in June and December.
