The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Development will leave Amsterdam today (March 18) and arrive in Prague to continue its 9-day overseas duty visit.
The delegation meets with the Amsterdam City Council Committee on Spatial Planning to exchange views on and experiences in urban development and urban renewal today.
During the days from March 14 to 17, the delegation visited the Amsterdam Architecture Centre and conducted site visits to five project areas in Amsterdam, namely Eastern Port Area, IJburg, Zuidas, Zuidoost District and Noord District. During the meetings with the relevant authorities and site visits, the delegation was briefed on the historical background, approaches for development and regeneration, and the planning and implementation processes of the projects.
The eight-member delegation is led by Hon Lau Wong-fat. Other members include Prof Hon Patrick Lau Sau-shing, Hon James To Kun-sun, Hon Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, Hon Albert Chan Wai-yip (joining the Amsterdam leg only), Hon Daniel Lam Wai-keung; Hon Alan Leong Kah-kit (joining the Prague leg only), and Hon Frederick Fung Kin-kee.
