Youth Employment Start in Kwai Fong opens tomorrow
**************************************************

The Labour Department has set up a Youth Employment Resource Centre, Youth Employment Start (YES), at Kwai Fong and it will come into operation from tomorrow (March 19). The centre will provide one-stop advisory and support services on employment and self-employment to youngsters aged between 15 and 29.

"The setting up of YES aims to provide support to youth to start right in their career, enhance their employability, help them to access the latest labour market information and to secure a firm footing in the labour market for sustainable development," Assistant Commissioner for Labour, Mr Byron Ng, said.

"To cater for the distinct needs of youth, we have designed our services in a unique and innovative manner.  The range of services and facilities at YES include career assessment, career guidance, value-added training and self-employment support.

"The target users of YES are current and past trainees of the 'Youth Pre-employment Training Programme' and 'Youth Work Experience & Training Scheme', school leavers, youth job seekers, youth seeking alternative employment and self-employed youth aged 15 to 29," he added.

Following the establishment of YES in Mongkok, the setting up of YES in Kwai Fong is a realisation of the Chief Executive's announcement in the Policy Address to set up two Youth Employment Resource Centres providing one-stop advisory and support services on employment and self-employment to youth aged 15 to 29.

YES in Kwai Fong is located at Unit 907-912, 9/F, Metroplaza Tower II, 223 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Fong.  Enquiries about the centre can be directed to the telephone hotline 3585 8000.  The centre's website is www.e-start.hk

The opening hours of YES are Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 7pm.
