Police are investigating the death of a woman in North Point this afternoon (March 17).
About 2.20pm, a woman reported that she had lost contact with her female friend working at a flat at Electric Road. She visited the flat but no one answered the door. She then sought the assistance from a locksmith and found that her friend had collapsed. A report was then made to the Police.
Police officers sped to the scene. The 27-year-old woman was found unconscious inside the toilet with her forehead swollen and lower jaw injured.
The woman was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.
Initial investigations revealed that there were suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.
A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow (March 18) to ascertain the cause of the womanˇ¦s death.
Investigations by Organized Crime and Triad Bureau are under way.
