Fight Crime Committee members appointed

    The Government today (February 22) announced the appointment of Ir Edgar Kwan Chi-ping to the Fight Crime Committee for a term of two years, and the re-appointment of six incumbent members, namely Mr Vincent Fang Kang, Mr Li Kwok-ying, Dr John Tse Wing-ling, Mr Yau Chung-wan, Ms Sylvia Yau Siu-fee and Mrs Betty Yuen So Siu-mai, for a further term of two years.  These appointments were made by the Chief Secretary for Administration and will take effect from April 1, 2008.

    The Fight Crime Committee is responsible for drawing up plans to reduce crime, co-ordinating efforts in fighting crime and monitoring the results, and determining ways in which the public can be encouraged to contribute to the reduction of crime.  It is chaired by the Chief Secretary for Administration.
