The Transport Department (TD) today (February 22) invited tenders for Contract No. TD 4/2008 - Replacement of Area Traffic Control (ATC) System for Kowloon, Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin and Expansion of the System to Tseung Kwan O.
The tender submissions should be placed at the Government Secretariat Tender Box in the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong. Closing date is noon on April 11.
The contract includes design, supply and implementation of a computerised ATC system comprising a central computer system, peripheral equipment, about 890 traffic signal controllers and associated detectors and the provision of maintenance services for a period of five years. The works are scheduled to commence in September 2008 for completion in November 2011.
Delcan International Corporation has been appointed by the TD to assist the implementation of the project.
