Local pond fish farmers suffering fish losses caused by the recent cold weather can register from tomorrow (February 19) to February 27 with the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) for grants from the Emergency Relief Fund.
A department spokesman said today (February 18) that grants from the relief fund would be made to affected pond fish farmers according to established criteria.
The department's preliminary investigation has indicated that some pond fish farmers in Nam San Wai, Mai Po, San Tin and Ma Tso Lung have been affected by the recent cold weather.
"The assistance is intended to provide some relief to affected pond fish farmers," the spokesman said.
Applicants for the fund should register at the following offices within the specified period:
*Au Tau Fisheries Office: 27 Milestone, Castle Peak Road, Yuen Long,
*Tai Po Fisheries Office: 2/F., No. 3 Yu On Street, Sam Mun Tsai, Tai Po.
