The Labour Department and the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades will hold a two-day job fair at Tin Ching Community Hall, Tin Ching Estate, Tin Wah Road, Tin Shui Wai (near Tin Yuet LRT stop) on February 19 and 20, providing more than 2,400 vacancies to job seekers.
A total of 31 companies from the catering industry will set up counters for on-the-spot recruitment. The vacancies cover a variety of positions such as waiter/waitress, kitchen assistant, shop assistant, cashier, clerk, officer and shop manager. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may click to the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
The majority of the vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $9,000. About 80% of these vacancies require Form 3 educational level or below. About 70% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience. Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.
At the event, there will be career talks introducing the employment opportunities offered by some of the participating companies. The Labour Department will also conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 6pm at Tin Ching Community Hall, Tin Shui Wai. Admission is free.
