The Highways Department today (February 15) invited tenders for widening of Tuen Mun Road at Tsing Tin Interchange (Contract no HY/2007/14).
A department spokesman said tender submissions should be placed at the Government Secretariat Tender Box in the lift lobby on the lower ground floor of the Central Government Offices (East Wing), 20 Lower Albert Road , Hong Kong. Closing date is noon on March 28.
The works mainly comprise the widening of a 24-metre long section of Tuen Mun Road at Tsing Tin Interchange from dual two-lane to dual three-lane; and ancillary works including erection of noise barriers, drainage, slope improvement, road lighting, landscaping and traffic aids.
The works are expected to begin in May and will take about 17 months to complete.
The design of the works, which has been completed, was carried out by Major Works Management Office of the Highways Department, which will also supervise the construction.
