In view of the persistent cold weather, the decrease in blood donations and the increased demand for type A and type O blood lately, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) appeals to those who are in the type A or O blood group to come forward to donate blood as soon as possible. To ensure an adequate supply of blood, the BTS urgently needs some 1,000 people to donate blood every day, in particular type A and type O blood donors.
For enquiries about blood donation, the public can call the BTS hotline at 2710 1234 or visit its website at www.ha.org.hk/rcbts.
Every minute counts in saving lives. Many patients are waiting for those who are blood type A or type O to act now!
