Amendments to scheme for Middle Road Subway Extension gazetted

    The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (February 6) on amendments to a scheme for the Middle Road Subway Extension authorised earlier by the Chief Executive in Council.

    The amendments include revising the layout of the proposed cut-and-cover pedestrian subway with travelators at Kowloon Park Drive; relocating the proposed lift next to the YMCA; revising the layout of the proposed plantroom/ventilation shafts. They are required to accommodate the detailed design development and cope with the construction works.

    The existing Middle Road Subway will be included in the limit of works area and temporarily partially closed for the electrical and mechanical services connection works.

    The amendment plan and the amendment scheme of  works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

(i)  Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;

(ii) Yau Tsim Mong District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Mong Kok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Mong Kok ; and

(iii) District Lands Office, Kowloon West, 10th Floor, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei.

    Any person who wishes to object to the amendments of the works should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong on or before April 6.
