Transcript of CE's media session after visiting Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair (with photos/videos)
*********************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, at a media session after visiting the Lunar New Year Fair in Victoria Park this afternoon (February 5):

Chief Executive: I'm very happy to come here. I have been coming here to Victoria Park for the Lunar New Year Fair for forty odd years. I have not missed a single one. I think this is very much a Hong Kong spirit. The weather is cold, but the place is full of happiness and smiles. There are lots of things to be happy about in Hong Kong. The economy is generally well, but we still have lots of poor people we need to look after. Whatever station of life they are, I hope they will have a very happy and contented Lunar New Year celebration, with all the family members sitting together. I'm very grateful for the support of the Legislative Council today for the proposal we put forward for a donation of two hundred and ten million dollars to the three provinces, which have been torn apart by snowstorms. I really hope that our brothers and sisters on the Mainland would recover quickly and would have a very enjoyable, warm and happy Lunar New Year with us. For Mr Ching Cheong, I wish him well. I'm very happy for him to come home. I hope his family will be very happy together celebrating Lunar New Year. Thank you very much.
