The Leisure and Cultural Services Department today (February 2) announced special opening hours for its museums and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre during the Lunar New Year holidays.
The museums are the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Science Museum, Hong Kong Space Museum, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Sheung Yiu Folk Museum, Hong Kong Railway Museum, Sam Tung Uk Museum and Hong Kong Film Archive.
On Lunar New Year's Eve (February 6), all those museums and the Visual Arts Centre will close at 5pm, except the Sheung Yiu Folk Museum, which will close at 4pm.
On the first and second days of the Lunar New Year (February 7 and 8), all the museums and the Visual Arts Centre will be closed.
On the third day of the Lunar New Year (February 9), the Museum of Art, Museum of History, Heritage Museum, Science Museum, Space Museum, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, Museum of Coastal Defence, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Heritage Discovery Centre, Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery and Heritage Trail Visitors Centre and the Film Archive will open as usual; while the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum, Sheung Yiu Folk Museum, Railway Museum, Sam Tung Uk Museum and the Visual Arts Centre will be closed.
