Visa-free visit period extended for nationals of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia
**********************************************************

The Immigration Department announced today (January 29) that from February 4, nationals of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia would have their visa-free visit period to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region extended from 14 to 30 days.

"Hong Kong adopts a liberal visa policy. At present, nationals of about 170 countries and territories enjoy visa-free access to the HKSAR for visit ranging from seven to 180 days," an Immigration Department spokesman said.

"The Immigration Department regularly reviews its visa policies and takes into account factors such as the social, economic and political situation of the countries and territories concerned.  The extension of visa-free visit period for nationals of these six countries will enhance the trade, business, investment and tourism ties between Hong Kong and these countries."
