200 attend sea navigation safety seminar (with photo)

    The Marine Department held a Sea Navigation Safety Seminar at the Space Museum's lecture hall today (January 24), attended by about 200 people from the fishery and shipping industries, including local and river trade vessel captains and operators.

     The seminar highlighted measures to be observed onboard ship to enhance marine traffic safety. Analysis of marine accident cases were also put forward to remind participants of the importance of safety at sea, and to heighten their alertness to adhering to safety codes.

     Representatives from the Marine Police, Customs & Excise Department,  Fire Services Department and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department also joined the discussions.

     The seminar was met with enthusiasm and constructive discussions were conducted.
