DOJ's statement on Citizens' Radio
**********************************

In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Department of Justice said the following today (January 13).

In connection with the injunction against Citizens' Radio's unlicenced broadcasting activities, Department of Justice has filed the necessary papers to commit certain individuals bound by the terms of the injunction order (including the named defendants thereon) for contempt of court yesterday (January 12).

As for other persons who might have assisted in violating the injunction, including participation in the unauthorised broadcast, Department of Justice is now considering the position.

We wish to reiterate that assistance by anyone in the violation of the injunction  including taking part in any unauthorised broadcast, with knowledge of the injunction, may also constitute contempt of court.
