The Land Registry today (January 4) released the land registration statistics recorded for 2007.
The total number of sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration in the Land Registry for the period was 145,691. This represented an increase of 47% compared with 2006 and 17.8% compared with 2005.
The total consideration involved in these agreements was $525.63 billion. This was up 66.8 per cent compared with 2006 and 32.9 per cent compared with 2005.
During 2007, 158,287 assignments of building units were lodged for registration. This was an increase of 25.6% compared with the 125,983 recorded during 2006 and 1.3% compared with the 156,280 recorded in 2005.
The total consideration involved, of $471.27 billion, was an increase of 43% over 2006 and 18.6% over 2005.
Searches of land records made by the public during 2007 totalled 4,759,585. This was up 20.3% compared with 2006 and 12.2% compared with 2005.
