20 building plans approved in November

    The Buildings Department approved 20 building plans in November - eight on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, 12 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments and five were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 4,027 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 18 units, and 119,897 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 15 building projects.

     The department also issued 16 occupation permits - three on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 174,947 square metres, involving 3,065 units, and 49,077 square metres for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of the new buildings completed in November totalled about $2.3 billion.

     In addition, nine demolition consents involving nine building structures were issued.

     The department received 2,045 complaints against unauthorised building works in November, and issued 1,832 removal orders on unauthorised works.
