The competition was jointly organised by the Action Committee Against Narcotics (ACAN), the Narcotics Division of the Security Bureau and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Teen Power.  Nine teams who made the final round competed for awards in the hip hop dancing and band competitions.

The competition, based on the popular hip hop culture, gave the young participants a chance to show their talent and build their self-confidence through anti-drug dances and songs.  It also reinforced the message that young people could enjoy themselves and find satisfaction in a drug- free environment.

The Commissioner for Narcotics, Ms Sally Wong, and the head of RTHK Radio 2, Mr Clarence Yang, presented prizes to the winners.  Winners of the hip hop dance competition were Buddy(champion), Double 2 (first-runner up) and Groove Gangster (second runner-up) and Positions, Forgot and Frozen Matches were awarded the champion, the first runner-up and second runner-up of the band competition respectively.

The Chairman of the ACAN Sub-committee on Preventive Education and Publicity, Ms Scarlett Pong, said during the finale that abusing drugs was addictive and would bring irreversible harm to your body.  She also reminded young people that taking drugs was a crime.  "Youth should learn that abusing drugs will only ruin their talent and make their lives meaningless."

Popular singer Eric Suen performed at the finale, spreading through his songs the message of the importance of having a healthy life.  Ray Chung, Dear Jane, EO2, Fama and DJ Galaxy also performed at the show.  They appealed to youths to make better use of their leisure time and stay away from drugs. The appeal was made through band performances, hip hop dancing, rapping and scratching, all of which are popular modes of expression among youth.  Four groups of rappers also used their rap performances to spread anti-drug messages.

The finale ended with the competition slogan which called on youngsters to lead a healthy lifestyle and not to let drugs manipulate their lives.
