Members of the public are reminded that they have about two weeks to give their views on the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) as the three-month public engagement exercise will end on December 12, 2007.
The exercise is to explain the recommendations to the public and gauge their views before the Government maps out how to take forward the WKCD project.
The Consultative Committee on the Core Arts and Cultural Facilities of the WKCD has completed the task of re-examining and re-confirming the needs of the WKCD's core arts and cultural facilities and the financial implications of developing and operating these facilities and submitted its recommendations to the Chief Executive.
During the past two months, a series of public forums, briefings and roving exhibitions have been held and an online discussion board has also been launched as a platform for people to express views on various aspects of the Consultative Committee's recommendations.
The public views collected so far are generally supportive of the recommendations and early implementation of the WKCD project.
Those who have yet to express their views on the Consultative Committeeˇ¦s recommendations are urged to do so by December 12 through -
* joining the online discussion forums and filling in the wish card available on www.hab.gov.hk/wkcd;
* completing the wish cards available at the exhibition venues and Leisure and Cultural Services Department major arts and culture venues and dropping them in the collection boxes at the exhibition venues; or
* sending the completed wish cards to or writing to the Home Affairs Bureau
