Equestrian volunteers displays close tomorrow

The following is issued on behalf of The Equestrian Company:

     A spokesman for The Equestrian Company (EqCo) said a thematic exhibition and recruitment drive of volunteers being held in the Hong Kong City Hall will close tomorrow (November 30).  

     The displays held in the Exhibition Hall at the Low Block of Hong Kong City Hall will close at 4pm tomorrow.

     Besides viewing exhibits, including photographs on the Equestrian Volunteers Movement, visitors can also log on to EqCo's website on computers at the venue and apply instantly to become volunteers.

     A total of 1,800 volunteers are required to help the Beijing 2008 Olympic equestrian events in August run smoothly and another 600 volunteers are needed for the Paralympic equestrian events in September.

     So far, 13,000 people have applied to become volunteers for the August event.

     Those interested in enrolling as volunteers for the equestrian events are invited to log on to EqCo's website at www.equestrian2008.org.

     The deadline for recruitment of the third and last batch of volunteers is December 31 this year.
