Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, at a media session in Beijing this (November 23) evening:
Reporter: I noticed that the top leaders are very pleased about the current development of Hong Kong but at the same time, the Premier, Wen Jiabao, mentioned about the issue of Hong Kongˇ¦s competitiveness. So how would you interpret the words of the leaders?
Chief Executive: I am very grateful to the Premier who is always supporting Hong Kong, thinking about Hong Kong and making sure Hong Kong remains competitive. He made a few suggestions. I agree with him. All these issues require further thoughts. I have mentioned some of them in my Policy Address in October but I agree that this matter should be gone into more deeply and make sure that Hong Kong remains the most competitive place as a premier international financial centre in our own time zone.
