The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will pay his first official visit to Vietnam from tomorrow (November 21) to November 23 to showcase Hong Kong's position as an international financial centre and to promote Hong Kong as a preferred listing venue in particular.
On his first stop in Hanoi, Professor Chan will meet government officials to exchange views on matters of mutual interest. He will also meet leading figures in the financial services to update them on the latest developments in Hong Kong.
On November 23, Professor Chan will be in Ho Chi Minh City where he will deliver a keynote address at an IPO in Hong Kong Conference. The conference is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited and the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. He will also visit the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange and meet with market participants in the financial services industry there.
