Master illusionist reveals inner world of humanity
**************************************************

Veteran master of theatrical visual illusions Philippe Genty will bring his latest masterpiece of visual theatre "La Fin des Terres (Lands End)" to Hong Kong next month.

"La Fin des Terres (Lands End)" is about a meeting between two people and its imaginary resonance in the landscape of dreams. It conjures up a number of enigmatic characters, sometimes real, sometimes projected, who will reveal secret emotions and hidden personal histories. The programme contains scenes of an adult nature.

Genty creates fantastic images from tricks of perspective, distortion, movement and puppets to present a kaleidoscopic dream fantasy.

"The Independent" commented, "Genty can be arch or knowing, but he does create distinctive images". "Paris Capitale" reviewed: "to miss a new work by Philippe Genty is to miss out ¡K pure poetry, life-saving grace, and delight for both the eyes and the heart."

Compagnie Philippe Genty uses magic and illusion to force a breach in the rational where absurd, derisive, cruel images fit into a method of association without narrative logic, as in a dream. The company won the Critics' Prize at the Edinburgh Festival for dance.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "La Fin des Terres (Land End)" by Compagnie Philippe Genty (France) will be staged on December 29 and 30 (Saturday and Sunday) at 7.30pm; and on December 30 at 3pm at the Auditorium, Kwai Tsing Theatre.
