The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau announced today (November 2) that the Chief Executive has made the following appointments to the Clearing and Settlement Systems Appeals Tribunal (CSSAT) under the Clearing and Settlement Systems Ordinance (CSSO):

The appointments are effective for a term of three years starting Sunday (November 4).
Except for Mr Etches and Mr Jacob, all members, including the chairman, are serving members of the CSSAT.
The CSSAT is a statutory tribunal established under the CSSO to hear appeals by any person who is aggrieved by a decision of the Monetary Authority on designation of a clearing and settlement system and related matters. The CSSAT is a safeguard to ensure that the relevant decisions made under the CSSO are fair and reasonable.
