Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tai Po this morning (October 30) in which an 83-year-old man was killed.
About 8.10am, a public bus being driven by a 29-year-old man was traveling along Po Heung Street towards Heung Sze Wui Street. At the junction with Nam Shing Street, the public bus hit the man who was crossing the road.
The man, who sustained serious head injuries, was taken to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and was then transferred to the Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 4.31pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are proceeding.
