The Inauguration Ceremony of Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation cum PWH-KCRC Health and Charity Ride was held today (October 28). The "PWH-KCRC Health and Charity Ride" campaign also held today to set sail the first fundraising event of the Foundation.
Mr Edward S T HO, Chairman, Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation, Mr. Anthony T Y WU, Chairman, Hospital Authority and Mr Michael TIEN, Chairman, Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, Dr. LI Yuet Ting, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong and Dr TSE Tak Fu, Chairman, Fundraising Committee, Prince of Wales Hospital, officiated at the Ceremony. Ms KOON Wai Chee and Ms CHAU Hoi Wah, badminton elite athletes of Hong Kong also share their views on health and sports with participants of the event.
Mr Edward S T HO, Chairman, Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation said in his welcoming speech, "The Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation was established in January 2007 with the support of the Hospital Authority; it aims to support the PWH in improving the physical and mental health of the public in the community; and also to promote medical education and research in cooperation with the Chinese University of Hong Kong." The objective of this event is to raise fund to provide support for the underprivileged patients suffering from diabetes and requiring long-term care.
"PWH-KCRC Health and Charity Ride" was organized by the Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation, with the support of Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation as the co-organizer; the event was also fully supported by the Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong in organizing the Health Check Carnival.
The event today commenced the "PWH-KCRC Health and Charity Ride"; the fundraising month would start from today to November 28; Octopus donation kiosks are set up at KCR stations at Sha Tin, Tai Wai and City One for the generous contribution from public towards the work of the Prince of Wales Hospital Charitable Foundation.
