Chief Secretary to visit Beijing

    The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will leave Hong Kong next Monday (October 29) for a duty visit to Beijing.

     This is Mr Tang's first visit to Beijing after assuming his current post.  During the visit he will call on Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture, State Environmental Protection Administration, Beijing Municipal Government, and Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.  He will also visit the National Grand Theatre and Olympic venues, and meet with Hong Kong people residing in Beijing.

     Mr Tang will return to Hong Kong on November 1.  During his absence, the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will be the Acting Chief Secretary for Administration.
