The Government announced today (October 26) the appointment of three new members to the Consumer Council. They are Mr Joe Lai Wing-ho, Rev Lau Kam-sing and Mr Fred Li Wah-ming. The appointments will be for two years with effect from November 1, 2007.
"We are delighted that the three new members have accepted the appointment. They have extensive experience in community work. We are confident that their expertise and experience would be invaluable to the work of the Council in promoting consumer interests," a government spokesman said.
"We are also grateful to Mrs Mak Chen Wen-ning, who has recently retired. During her four years of service on the Council, Mrs Mak has made significant contribution to the Council¡¦s work, especially in the area of consumer education," the spokesman added.
The appointments are published in the Government Gazette today.
