The Government published in the Gazette today (October 26) the proposed Stage 1 works for widening of Tolo Highway/Fanling Highway between Island House Interchange and Fanling.
The proposed works include alteration and reconstruction of sections of the existing vehicular bridges, at-grade carriageways, footpaths and cycle tracks; and construction of noise barriers.
The construction work will start in the second half of 2008 and will be completed by the end of 2012 or early 2013. When completed, the project will improve the operation of Tolo Highway/Fanling Highway from Island House Interchange to Lam Kam Road Interchange.
The plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following places during office hours:
(i) Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong;
(ii) Tai Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po; and
(iii) District Lands Office, Tai Po, 1st Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po.
Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed works should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before December 25.
