Police will implement special traffic arrangements on Friday (October 19) to facilitate a public meeting at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay followed by a procession to march off from Victoria Park.
(A) Road closure
The following roads will be closed from 1.30pm and as necessary:
(1) Northbound Gloucester Road from the U-turn loop underneath Tai Hang Road flyover to Kingston Street;
(2) Sugar Street;
(3) Great George Street;
(4) A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street;
(5) Kingston Street;
(6) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park Road Flyover and Causeway Road;
(7) Cleveland Street;
(8) Jardine's Bazaar; and
(9) Tang Lung Street.
The following roads will be closed from 2.15pm and as necessary:
(1) Westbound Yee Wo Street;
(2) Westbound Hennessy Road;
(3) A section of Lee Garden Road between Kai Chiu Road and Hennessy Road;
(4) Kai Chiu Road;
(5) A section of Yun Ping Road between Lan Fong Road and Kai Chiu Road;
(6) A section of Percival Street between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road;
(7) A slip road leading from eastbound Johnston Road to westbound Hennessy Road;
(8) A section of Thomson Road between Johnston Road and Luard Road;
(9) A section of Luard Road between Johnston Road and Hennessy Road;
(10) A section of Canal Road East between Russell Street and Hennessy Road;
(11) A section of Canal Road West between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road;
(12) A section of Wan Chai Road between Canal Road West and Morrison Hill Road; and
(13) A section of Bowrington Road between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road.
The following road will be closed from 3.30pm and as necessary:
(1) Anton Street.
The following road will be closed from 4pm and as necessary:
(1) A slip road leading from northbound Justice Drive to westbound Queensway; and
(2) A slip road leading from southbound Cotton Tree Drive Flyover to westbound Queensway
(B) Traffic Diversion
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 1.30pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along southbound Gloucester Road will be prohibited from turning right to the U-turn loop leading to northbound Gloucester Road;
(2) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will be prohibited from turning left to Sugar Street;
(3) Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road Flyover will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Kingston Street;
(4) Traffic along westbound Irving Street will be prohibited from entering Jardine's Bazaar
(5) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be prohibited from turning left to Jardine's Bazaar;
(6) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited from turning left to southbound Cleveland Street;
(7) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited from turning left to southbound Paterson Street;
(8) Traffic along a slip road leading from westbound Victoria Park Road to Gloucester Road Service Road must turn right before the junction with Cleveland Street; and
(9) Traffic along southbound Victoria Park Road Flyover must turn right to Gloucester Road Service Road.
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 2.15pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning right to westbound Hennessy Road
(2) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street must turn right to Keswick Street;
(3) Traffic along eastbound Thomson Road will be prohibited from turning right to Luard Road (re-routed) and Johnston Road;
(4) Traffic along northbound Yun Ping Road must turn left to westbound Lan Fong Road;
(5) Traffic along westbound Leighton Road must turn left to Wong Nai Chung Road except franchised bus;
(6) Traffic along southbound Percival Street must turn right to westbound Lockhart Road;
(7) Traffic along eastbound Lockhart Road will be prohibited from turning right to southbound Percival Street;
(8) Traffic along northbound Tin Lok Lane will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Hennessy Road;
(9) Traffic along southbound Stewart Road will be prohibited from turning right to westbound Hennessy Road;
(10) Traffic along southbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning right to westbound Hennessy Road;
(11) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Hennessy Road;
(12) Traffic along southbound Fenwick Street must turn left to eastbound Hennessy Road.
(13) Traffic along northbound Tai Wong Street East must turn left or right before the junction with Luard Road;
(14) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road will be prohibited from turning right to the western junction of Thomson Road;
(15) Traffic along eastbound Johnston Road will be prohibited from turning left to the western junction of Thomson Road;
(16) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road must turn left to southbound Ship Street; and
(17) Traffic along northbound Landale Street must turn right to eastbound Johnston Road.
(18) Traffic along westbound Russell Street must turn left at the junction with Canal Road East;
(19) Traffic along northbound Canal Road West near the junction with Sharp Street West, will be diverted to up-ramp leading to northbound Canal Road Flyover
(20) Traffic along eastbound Sharp Street West will be diverted to up-ramp leading to northbound Canal Road Flyover;
(21) Traffic along eastbound Sharp Street West will be prohibited from turning left to northbound Bowrington Road
(22) Traffic along northbound Bowrington Road must turn right to eastbound Sharp Street West; and
(23) Traffic along eastbound Wan Chai Road must turn right to southbound Morrison Hill Road.
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 4pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along northbound Justice Drive must go straight to Justice Drive Flyover;
(2) Traffic along westbound Queen's Road East must turn left to Justice Drive;
(3) Traffic along eastbound Queensway will be prohibited from turning right to eastbound Queen's Road East; and
(4) Traffic along eastbound Queensway will be prohibited from turning right to southbound Cotton Tree Drive.
(C) Suspension of bus stops
All bus stops along the closed roads are to be suspended from 2.15pm until resumption of bus service.
(D) Suspension of public light bus (PLB) and taxi stands
All PLB stands and taxi stands along the closed roads will be suspended from 1.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation.
(E) Suspension of car parks
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public/private car parks from 2.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation:
(1) Park Lane at 310 Gloucester Road (entrance at Great George Street);
(2) In Square at 311 Gloucester Road (entrance at Great George Street); and
(3) Hang Lung Centre at 2 Paterson Street (entrance at Great George Street).
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public/private car parks from 2.30pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation:
(1) On Lok Lane;
(2) CNT Tower at 338 Hennessy Road;
(3) Cheuk Nang 21st Century Plaza at 250 Hennessy Road; and
(4) Shanghai Industrial Investment Building at 48 Hennessy Road.
(G) Suspension of tram stops
(1) Tram stops along both bounds of Yee Wo Street near Paterson Street will be suspended from 2.30pm if necessary.
