Combining the compelling rhythms of Flamenco, energy of punk rock, attitude of hip hop and wild intensity of Gypsy music with the latest turntablist skills and searing vocals, "Ojos de Brujo" (Eyes of the Wizard), the latest star of the burgeoning Barcelona alternative music scene, will bring an electrifying experience to Hong Kong audience on November 1.
The performance will feature music from their latest album "Techari" which has been nominated at the 8th Latin Grammy Awards for Best Flamenco Album.
Comprising vocalists, guitarists, percussionists, a hip hop dancer and a DJ, the post-modern collection of performers are also the originator of one of the hippest current trends: Jip Jop Flamenkillo.
"Ojos de Brujo" was founded in 1996 by a group of like-minded musicians, who have sought to fuse different musical forms to reflect social inequality, to bring a fiery new creative force out into the world, and to challenge vision of the world with their passionate lyrics.
"Ojos de Brujo", one of the programmes of the "Mediterranean Arts Festival" will be staged on November 1 at 8pm at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall.
