The Labour Department will stage a job fair next Tuesday (October 16) at Tin Yiu Community Centre, Tin Yiu Estate, Tin Shui Wai, providing more than 1,300 vacancies for job-seekers.
A total of 18 companies, mainly from the retail, catering, telecommunication and property management, will set up counters for on-the-spot recruitment. The vacancies offered covered a variety of positions such as shop supervisor, manager trainee, sales, waiter/waitress, shop assistant, security guard, cook, flight attendant, and technicians. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may click to the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 94% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs, with a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $10,000. More than 90% of these vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below. About 60% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience. Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.
The Labour Department will conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers. Besides, the Employment Retraining Board will accept on-the-spot application for retraining courses.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 6pm at Tin Yiu Community Centre, Tin Yiu Estate, Tin Shui Wai. Admission is free.
