************************************************************

A sports exchange programme featuring sports demonstrations by three of the 2008 Olympic Games co-host cities, Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong, will be held on Saturday and Sunday (October 13 and 14) at shopping malls in Tai Kok Tsui and Ma On Shan to arouse public awareness of the 300-day countdown to the Beijing Olympics.

Representatives from the three cities will demonstrate different kinds of sports in which they excel, and appeal for public support for the Games.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the programme also forms part of LCSD's "Healthy Exercise for All Campaign" to encourage people to pursue a healthy lifestyle through regular physical exercise.

The programme activities include demonstrations of aerobic and rhythmic gymnastics, rope skipping, hip-hop dance, roller-skating, shuttlecock kicking, Wushu and cheering team performance. People will also be invited to participate in the activities to get a feel of the sports.

A "Wishing Tree" will be set up at the venues for people to make their wishes for the success of the Olympic Games in Beijing. There will also be an exhibition and quizzes on exercises and health to help the public better understand the importance of regular exercise and to enhance their Olympic knowledge.

The Beijing-Qingdao-Hong Kong 2008 Olympic Games Co-host Cities Sports Exchange Programme will be held from 4pm to 6pm at the Central Atrium, Olympian City 2, 18 Hoi Tin Road, Tai Kok Tsui, on Saturday and at the Exhibition Zone, Level Two, Sunshine City Plaza, 18 On Shing Street, Ma On Shan, on Sunday.
