The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tin Shui Wai to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at Shop No. L19, Grandeur Terrace, 88 Tin Shui Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (October 11) to October 24, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In June last year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises.
"A total fine of $7,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the restaurant also had two convictions in March and April last year for the same offence.
"A total fine of $5,500 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from April 30 to May 6 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
