The Chairman of the Education Commission, Dr Alice Lam, issued the following statement after the Chief Executive's announcement of the Policy Address today (October 10):
Dr Lam said: ¡§The Education Bureau has briefed members of the Commission on the new initiatives of the education portfolio of the Policy Agenda.¡¨
¡§I welcome the Government's announcement of the new initiatives in responding positively to the aspirations of the education sector and the community as a whole. They are built upon the present strengths and will further enhance the quality of our education services.
¡§I believe the Education Bureau will fully consult stakeholders in working out the implementation details and will consult members of the Education Commission if necessary,¡¨ she added.
