The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at Shop No 11, ground floor, Hong Tak Gardens, Shek Pai Tau Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (October 10) to October 23, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In April and July this year, there were two convictions for illegal extension of food business at the premises.
"A total fine of $3,600 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the same restaurant had two convictions last year, one for illegal extension of food business in April and another for dirty food room in November.
"A total fine of $4,400 was levied and 15 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from February 4 to 10 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
